Welcome to my new action RPG Palins Fate!

In Palins Fate you play a wizard who has to find the lost soul of the king inside your kingdom. The king has been put in a deep sleep by a demon. The demon collects souls to gain strength and rule the land.

Find the demon and get the kings soul back before it's too late! But beware the journey is not an easy one. The demons hideout is locked by magic that can only be opened with the sacred stones. Find the sacred stones and together they can break the spell and open the door to the demons deep dark dungeon!

Your journey will lead you through the forest ruins, the dark jungle, the cold mountains and the hazy desert.

Special Key Features of the game:

- random generated dungeons

- puzzles

- beautiful handcrafted worlds

- classic action RPG where you fight off evil monsters and explore dark dungeons

- game will be somewhat similar to Secret of Evermore/Zelda. If you like the classics you will feel right at home:)

How far is the games development?

I'm a solo developer and work on the game in my free time. Eventually I would like to spend more time on my hobby and you can help me by supporting me on Kofi! Or simply share the game with your friends and family.  Any early playtesting will be available for Kofi members:) You can also get a free copy of the game when complete on my Kofi membership!

Demo is now available to play for the public!!

A new demo version will come soon for Kofi members to test out the random dungeons before it goes public:)

Controls:

A, W, S, D/arrow keys to move

C = sword, open chests

X = arrows

Z = rolling

Left alt: Talk to NPCs, open chests

ESC = pause/quit

You can try to play with the controller, I'm sorry I didn't have time to test yet!

There is still some small fixes I have to make but please provide feedback if you can:)

Eventually I will add an options menu and Keybinds.

Some art is made by me with some exceptions of animations and some sprites that are made by:

UI, some dungeon tiles, town tiles:  Jamie Brownhill - itch.io

Some monster sprites and animations:  Franuka - itch.io

Some sound sfx: Leohpaz - itch.io

I simply changed the color palette and made some minor modifications.

Hey there!
Really nice little demo! As a composer who also publishes game music packs here on itch — and someone working on a game myself — I really appreciate the atmosphere you’ve created. It’s got that nostalgic NES-era JRPG charm that hits just right. Despite the short length, the experience is genuinely enjoyable. Can’t wait to see how it grows — great work!

Hi!

Thank you so much for playing my game demo! I'm so happy to hear you liked it! Yes it's still a bit short but I'm working on publishing one more updated demo before the final product. It will have a lot more content and bug fixes:)

Thank you again for playing!

Oh you are a composer? I will check out what you make:)

Thank you so much for the reply — I’m really looking forward to that updated demo! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. It’s clear you’re putting a lot of heart into the project, and it really shows.

And yes, I’m a composer! I’ve released two music packs here on itch, and I’m always excited to connect with fellow developers. If you ever need custom music or just want to bounce ideas around, feel free to reach out anytime!

Best of luck with development — I’ll be cheering for your game’s success!

Thank you so much I really appreciate it!

I'm always on the lookout for new retro/16bit music since I don't know how to make gaming music myself. Something I hope to learn one day!

Right now I'm okay I think on music. I have enough for placeholders but might change out some tracks later on:)

Well, then I wish you productive work on your game. I will follow the game updates. Let's keep in touch.
