Welcome to my new action RPG Palins Fate!
You play Palin who has to find the lost soul of the king inside your kingdom. The king has been put in a deep sleep by an evil dragon. The dragon collects souls to gain strength and rule the land.
Find the dragon and get the kings soul back before it's too late! But beware the journey is not an easy one. You have to find your way through dangerous lands and explore 4 large dungeons. Your journey will lead you through the forest ruins, the dark jungle, the cold mountains and the hazy desert.
Along the way you can interact with all kinds of nature and find hidden coins and items underneath grass and bushes. Solve puzzles inside dungeons and find hidden keys to unlock doors.
Special Key Features of the game:
- its not only an action rpg but its also set in a cozy world!
- puzzles
- beautiful handcrafted worlds
- classic action RPG where you fight off evil monsters and explore dark dungeons
- game will be somewhat similar to Secret of Mana/Zelda. If you like the classics you will feel right at home:)
How to Save:
Find the angel that can be found in each town and sometimes in random locations on your journey.
Options Menu will come back again with the next update:)

How far is the games development?
I'm a solo developer and work on the game in my free time. Eventually I would like to spend more time on my hobby and you can help me by supporting me on Kofi! Or simply share the game with your friends and family. Any early playtesting will be available for Kofi members:) You can also get a free copy of the game when complete on my Kofi membership!
Official Kickstarter Date:
Kickstarter will launch sometime in September of 2026.
Full game to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2027.
New demo versions will come as I go for Kofi members to test play the game before it goes public:)

It looks like save-management has some issues. The screen becomes unresponsive when I try to do anything except load a game.
Hi! Okay you mean from the menu that has all the saves? A screenshot would be helpful so i know in what scene and if there is maybe a button that doesnt work.
thank you!
I have a video actually but I can’t post it on itch.io
oh okay. Is it on like the website for that controller? Or if you could DM me on Twitter or something with the steps to take. Not sure how complicated it is:)) I suppose for anyone who has that controller should have some sort of instructions?
Btw i tested my save system and made some fixes and i think it works properly now:) Will add that with the next update:)
Heya! A couple notes.
I love it though. I have fond memories of A Link to the Past and Link’s Awakening and this gives me those vibes. Great work so far! I gave you a donation. Keep it up!
Hi! Omg thank you so much that means a lot to me! :) i'm so happy you enjoyed it:)
Thank you so much for your suggestions. Most of these are on my do to list:)
I will check about the controller you mentioned. The game should work with a ps4 or switch controller. Its like every controller has different mapping so I need to add that.
The player/other sprites are supposed to be only left/right animated. You can still shoot arrows up or down but I can see how it might not suit everyone's expectations.
Anyways pretty much most of your points are on my list and will be on the next update.
Thank you again for playing!
Hi!
I don't know when you read this but I did some research on the controller that you mentioned. So the 8bit do controller is supposed to have a switch/button on the back side so you can switch to xbox/ps4 controls. Then wait a few seconds and it should hopefully work!
If you don't have that option check the manual that your controller came with. It should say something about that.
I hope this is helpful! I will make a note of that on my page in case there is other people who are using this type of controller.
Thanks for looking into it, but mine is the m30, which doesn’t have this switch.
Yeah it is the m30, the one I linked for you. You can find the manual here.
oh thank you so much for the link. This is really helpful!
Ran around a bit and stabbed some things. I dig the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past vibes!!
Hi! Watched your video and thank you for playing my demo! I put controls on my page but I suppose I should put something in the options menu maybe:)
It was fun to watch you play. Will probably make another update before the full release:)
Hi!
I get a black screen when I leave the first room at the very beginning of the game. And if I press the attack button, I hear the sound of a sword swing, but the music no longer plays and I can't see anything. Is it just me or do you guys also have this problem? :)
oh no. That's not supposed to happen👀 I will take a look when I get home later. Sorry about that! I test played but it's possible I was doing something and made a new built after that. Will fix tonight!
No big deal! It's just a bug, and demo versions of games are primarily needed to identify bugs, and only then to get an impression of the game itself. Moreover, there are probably no games without bugs during the prototype testing process😊
I just streamed the Palins Fate demo and had a blast exploring its charming world, battling monsters, and solving puzzles. If you love classic action RPGs like Zelda or Secret of Evermore, you’ll definitely feel at home here!
That said, like any early project, there are still some rough edges — and I go into a lot of detail about both the good and the areas for improvement in my video. I really think with a little polish, Palins Fate could become something truly special.
Major respect to the solo dev for creating such an ambitious and heartfelt game — excited to see how it grows from here! 🙌
Thank you so much for playing and making a video about it! It makes my day when someone plays it and is having fun🥹💜 I will be uploading an updated demo soon with lots of fixes and some more content.
I will definitely check out your video! Thank you so much again:)
Hey there!
Really nice little demo! As a composer who also publishes game music packs here on itch — and someone working on a game myself — I really appreciate the atmosphere you’ve created. It’s got that nostalgic NES-era JRPG charm that hits just right. Despite the short length, the experience is genuinely enjoyable. Can’t wait to see how it grows — great work!
Hi!
Thank you so much for playing my game demo! I'm so happy to hear you liked it! Yes it's still a bit short but I'm working on publishing one more updated demo before the final product. It will have a lot more content and bug fixes:)
Thank you again for playing!
Oh you are a composer? I will check out what you make:)
Thank you so much for the reply — I’m really looking forward to that updated demo! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. It’s clear you’re putting a lot of heart into the project, and it really shows.
And yes, I’m a composer! I’ve released two music packs here on itch, and I’m always excited to connect with fellow developers. If you ever need custom music or just want to bounce ideas around, feel free to reach out anytime!
Best of luck with development — I’ll be cheering for your game’s success!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it!
I'm always on the lookout for new retro/16bit music since I don't know how to make gaming music myself. Something I hope to learn one day!
Right now I'm okay I think on music. I have enough for placeholders but might change out some tracks later on:)
Well, then I wish you productive work on your game. I will follow the game updates. Let's keep in touch.
